The moment and place of listening

—Time-space transformation within sound

Sound gains its own flow from time; space becomes the extension of vibration, the shadow of listening.

Sound seeks to reconstruct the perceptual dimensions of humanity, transcending physical, geopolitical, and cultural boundaries. It works to deconstruct, within deeper levels of consciousness, the rifts created by modernity. In the act of listening—between there and here, then and now—it connects us to the ultimate ritual of existence, where every moment of vibration ultimately leads to eternity.

Join us for a conversation with Chengdu-based sound artist Sun Wei, founder of Audible Area and one of China’s leading voices in field recording and experimental sound practice!
Wei sees field recording as “sonic re-sculpting”. Through modulation and spatial poetic transformation, he reveals sound’s physicality and its deep relationship with environment.
World Listening Project supports acoustic ecology and deep listening practices worldwide.
